I have met so many BowieNetters! You never cease to amaze me.

New York's weather continues to be as dramatic and eclectic as the city itself:
.
Rain showers this morning with isolated thunderstorms developing during the afternoon hours. High 81F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Tonight: Cloudy intervals. Low 67F. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph.

Did you know that there is at least one ton of BowieNetters living in New York City? Some even live walking distance from my home. I love living in New York City; but, most don't know that my introduction to BowieNetters happened in London. I had been a BowieNetter since 1974, when Al Gore first introduce the internet at a secret arts conference in Detroit. Sailor was there and that was when BowieNet started. There were only a few of us at the beginning: Starla, Mask, KelMar, Leeza, Helen2, Blammo, Rednik, Susans, Piccadilly, Rexer, Chamomile, and a few others I don't recall. Oddly, I never met any of them face-to-face.

In 2000, Mrs. Mac was transferred to London and our expatriate life started. Since I was a new loser in a new town, I began to visit BowieNet more frequently. Mrs. Mac and I attended the first London performance of "Darkness and Disgrace" and that's where I had my first physical encounter with actual eral-life BowieNetters. Later that year, I was invited to a birthday party for Blammo at Kensington Palace. I thought it would be my chance to meet sailor, but it was not to be. Actually, Mrs. Mac and I were going to pass on the party because it was the driver's night off, but since it was walking distance from our flat we fluffed out the silk and tafatta and made our way to the festivites. There they were: BowieNetters extrodinaire all in a row with Heinekens in hand. My life has never been the same!

I miss you. When I joined BowieNet (before it existed), I used it only for news and ticket/album information. I never went to chat. Then these MBs were invented and I still didn't participate, because I had reservations about using the internet for social interaction. Then I met you whackjobs and it all changed. Thank you for all the fun!
